About
karṇāṭa—a word that evokes the fertile black soil of the Deccan and melodies pleasant to the ear—is an initiative of scholars and connoisseurs to creatively nurture the vast heritage of the classical Kannada language, literature, and architecture.
It is an effort to make the heritage of classical Kannada accessible to the public, to encourage scholarship, and to build a community around our shared love and interest in one of the most prolific literary and material cultures of the world.
